If the recent TV Guide Awards left you interested in the magazine's past and present, a trip to the Museum of Television & Radio in Beverly Hills may be in order. With nearly 400 covers on display, the exhibit, which was first shown at the museum's New York branch, runs through the end of February.
At the opening reception last fall, That Girl Mario Thomas recalled her first cover, in 1966. "It was like, 'Wow, I've made it.'" Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess), a '97 cover subject, was impressed with the stars gathered for the reception. Before leaving to dine with Barbara Eden (I Dream ofJeannie), Lawless was able to tell Donny Osmond (accompanied by sister Marie) about her childhood crush on him. "I've never been starstruck," Lawless said. "But when I walked into this room with all these people I had seen on TV, I was transported back to being 10 years old." -Ty Holland
