this autographed Lucy photo has some history
(other than it being a
Lucy photoshoot pic around 1998) - This
was originally given to Missy Good by Lucy
for the Bardcon raffle. It was won by
FlyBigD (April Dease) who gave it from
Rossana who scanned it in for Mesh who gave
it to me to share <g> It has more frequent
flyer points that the ROC pics that took the
Austrian stopover on their way to Australia
for the AUSXIP Auction back in December.

when Xena TV star Lucy
Lawless proved she was more than a
warrior princess and played Rizzo in Grease! on Broadway in the fall on
1997? Those days may be over, but Lawless is
back singing her heart out these days thanks
to her success on TV’s Celebrity Duets
last fall, in which she placed 2nd out of
the eight celebs who competed (Broadway baby
Alfonso Ribeiro took top prize). In fact,
the gorgeous mom (who can now be seen on
TV’s Battlestar Galactica) made her
club debut with a rock band over the weekend
at The Roxy on Sunset Boulevard.

Oooeee! My email has exploded the

One thing I've noticed in going through all these pics is
that no pic is alike. Yes the photographers were all at the
same venue but somehow they managed to get a different look
- maybe a split second difference. Wonderful to wade through

V stars to take on Boogeyman - 17 January 2007
According to Variety, another “Heroes” cast member –
they all seem to be snapping up movie roles – has
snagged a plum feature gig. Danielle Savre, who played
cheerleader Jackie on the show, will have the lead role
in “Boogeyman 2”.
She’ll play Laura, a young woman with a more defined
fear; that of the boogeyman himself....We’ve also heard
that Renee O’Connor, best known for her role on TVs
“Xena : Warrior Princess”, has also been courted to play
a role in the film, as has David Gallagher ("Seventh
Heaven") and Mae Whitman ("Thief"). “Boogeyman 2” starts
filming later this month at Sony’s Culver City Studios

Some Renee Corrections from the
Con
Received corrections of the Renee Q&A info which
was posted yesterday. The corrections are from Renee - that information was not quite right (oops
sorry Renee).
Below are Renee's corrections:
- In boogeyman 2, I am playing a psychiatrist whose
mother had schizophrenia. the patients she works with
have different phobias, like scared of the boogeyman!
- The scifi western is in its very early stages, not
even pre-production yet. I will be producing.
- Not doing a comedy with the diamonds and guns gang.
Don't know where that came from...
- Army Wives...Katherine's boss passed on me, but I
felt lucky after I realized they were going to be in
south carolina six months out of the year.

Warrior Lucy Rocks! - The Daily Record 16 January 2007
XENA: Warrior Princess actress Lucy Lawless battled a
mystery virus to make her singing debut at a rock gig.
Lucy, who is better known for her sword fights, decided
to take a stab at singing after appearing on the US show
Celebrity Duets. She had to load up on medication before
the sell-out show at LA's Roxy venue but it didn't stop
her bringing the house down. With her new blonde look,
she made a big impression singing some of her own songs,
as well as those of Etta James and Nina Simone.

pregnant (congratulations Deb). I think this would have
been a perfect time for Deb to be Season 5 Xena.

Another year, another tweak....what can I say, I was
inspired by Mesh's redesign of the
AUSXIP ROC site - the banner is just so beautiful
and I love maroon so much (one of my favourite colours along with royal blue and
black). Anyway just thought I would spruce up the main index page here a little
bit. Nothing too drastic.
Speaking of the ROC site - go and have a look at the
gorgeous site redesign. That main
Renee picture is one of my favourites and Mesh has weaved her magic. Awesome.

Lucy Message - Countdown to the Roxy
For those driving to the Roxy...
- Amy has forwarded me some info for those who don't know the area all
that well and who are not taking the Creation bus to the venue: The Roxy is
in West Hollywood and is 45 minutes to 1 hour from Burbank with traffic. And
as a matter landmark it is West of the Comedy Store.
You can get directions from the hotel to the Roxy at Google Maps
Leave plenty of time to get there before the 8 pm concert start.

Lucy will be appearing on the reality tv
show "You're The One That I Want"
on
January 21, 2007 (the same night as Lucy's BSG
episode "Rapture") as reported in the latest issue of TV
Guide Magazine. The NBC show, which will cast the two lead roles in the
Broadway revival of Grease, debuts on the broadcast network
Jan. 7, 2007, at 8 PM (ET).

1/8/07 -- Good evening, Young Ones. Today I had to
postpone BV's (backing vocals) meeting with Miss
Sharlotte. Instead I went to my brilliant ENT doctor to
get a handle on this virus that's set up shop in my
head. He hosed out my sinuses with a little vacuum
cleaner. Gruesome! Then he dug for gold in my ears. I
stopped yelling at people to "SPEAK UP!!!" after that.
And he shot me full of B12 and anti-histamine. I am
going straight to bed after writing this blog.

The other big news from Sharon
(other than the DVD - if that welcome news wasn't enough
to make every Lucy fan deliriously happy, especially
those that won't be going to the convention or to see
Lucy perform at the Roxy) is that Lucy hopes to be
releasing her CD single "Come2Me" at the same time as
the concert. The CD will contain Come2Me and "Let It
Whip" (Let It Whip was the song Lucy performed while she
and Renee jumped out of the cake at the 2005 Xena con -
that was quite memorable. I think everyone there forgot
about the song and just watched in absolute bliss as our
dynamic duo gave their fans a present).

Darkroom Movie Update
Geek.com has an interview with Mike Hurst, the director
of The Darkroom. In the interview he reveals how Lucy got
involved with the movie:
GM: HOW DID YOU GET LUCY LAWLESS INVOLVED?
MH: We attended the Saturn Awards for fun and were lucky
enough to be sat next to Lucy’s table. We got to meet Sam
Raimi and Robert Tapert, two heroes of mine (The Evil Dead
was always the seminal you-can-break-into-Hollywood horror
movie when I was growing up). Lucy was there with her
husband Robert Tapert and she looked great (of course) but
very different from her Xena persona. So Mark and I
discussed trying to get Lucy to join our cast, knowing it
was probably a long shot. We met with Lucy not long after
she’d read and responded favorably to the script and she
agreed to play Cheryl. If I’m honest I think what clinched
it for us was the fact that the part was a departure from
the roles she was previously known for. We gave her the
chance to show some of her amazing range, and our film
benefited enormously.

Congratulations to Gina Torres (Cleopatra in Xena)
and her husband Laurence Fishburne. They are expecting a
bub in the summer (Northern Hemisphere summer)! People
Magazine broke the news today. The couple was married in
2002 and this is their first child together. Gina was
Cleopatra in Xena, Nebula in Hercules and Hel in
Cleopatra 2525.

I am freaking out because I can't start working with the
musicians till next week. I will have literally 2 days
rehearsal; to test the keys, edit the shape and endings of
songs. The tone of each is very synergistic, which means

These concerts
are being filmed for DVD release and your
presence acknowledges your permission to be filmed and used
in the DVD content.
Creation also has a media release about
the concert which reads in part:

Lawless will sing songs by artists
who have powerfully influenced her: Etta James, Nina
Simone, Crissy Hynde, and Melissa Etheridge
plus performing some of her own work. Lawless further
says, "This performance is the soundtrack of my life”.
Rickey Minor, the musical director of American Idol and
Celebrity Duets, has helped the New Zealand born star
put together a remarkable band to perform behind
her. Opening for Lawless will be Comedy Central's Tig
Notaro.

- TV News: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA MIGHT GET 2 HOUR
STRAIGHT TO DVD MOVIE Telefilm would take place between
seasons 3 & 4
THE SKINNY: Even though this season has not been the
strongest for BATTLESTAR GALACTICA on the SCI FI
Channel, it looks like all of the critical praise,
awards, and DVD sales are amounting to something.
According the site www.geekmonthly.com a two-hour
telefilm has been proposed for BSG that would be filmed
before the start of season four.

For those reading who remember that wonderful series The
Bionic Woman with Lindsay Wagner, it's going to get the
David Eick treatment (David being the producer of Battlestar
Galactica)
NBC has given a cast-contingent pilot order to a reimagined
version of the 1970s TV series The Bionic Woman, from
Battlestar Galactica producer David Eick, Variety
reported. Eick is co-writing and co-producing the project
with Laeta Kalogridis (The Dive).
Eick has said that he's been combing through the library at
Universal, where his production company is based, to find
another title to revive following Battlestar. The
original version of The Bionic Woman—a spinoff of The Million Dollar Man— starred Lindsay Wagner as a
woman whose body is mechanically enhanced to save her life.
