A few years ago, Wishes (Judith K. Parker) read The World's Shortest Stories, edited by Steve Moss (Running Press, Philadelphia, 1998), and challenged fans to write 55-word Xena: Warrior Princess fiction (hosted by The Royal Academy of Bards at academyofbards.org), which inspired the following. -- IQ

 

 

NOSTALGIA

(November 2007)

Sun glinted off sand as in Egypt, ocean mirroring clouds like on the voyage from Chin. Mist-crowned peaks that could’ve been in Japa rose above a valley blazing the colors of India.

"Ever miss the good old days?"

"Mmm, not this morning." Xena noticed riders in the distance pursuing a caravan. "And there’s always tomorrow."
