To send Memorial Cards and Letters To Kevin's
family - send them to
If you wish to add a tribute to Kevin Smith please email it to me at webmaster@ausxip.com (17 Feb) Sunday evening from 7-8pm there was a candlelight memorial gathering. The gathering was at My Sister's Room, outside the gazebo area. Several people turned out for the memorial which was
basically sharing stories of interactions with Kevin. Followed by a moment of
silence and audio of the dirge that Lucy sings on one of the Xena CD's. The memorial ended
with a collective "cheers mate" It was quiet and cold. but for an hour we all
sat together and while we did talk about other things while waiting for people to arrive,
it was good to all come together and have a moment. ** Words cannot descibe what a loss this feels to me. I have never been lucky enough to
meet Kevin but I swear I thought he was one of the nicest men to live. He was a true
gentlemen and knew how to treat his fans well. All fans of Xena loved Kevin, I don't know
one fan who doesn't like him. I understand what a terrible loss this is to his wife and
children, but they must remember how much Kevin loved them and he will always be with
them. Sian/Kathy Jones ** I am very saddened that Kevin Smith died on 16th February 2002. I am speechless and finding it very hard to accept that a wonderful talented actor has died only a few days ago. I extremely cannot believe that he was only 38 years old that he sadly passed away, and will be bitterly missed. I will miss his bad role of the God of War, Ares that we love to hate, and he was a favourite bad villain in Xena: Warrior Princess. The way he torments Xena in his ways makes Ares a great guy that is made famous in over 100 countries and his smooth talking ways will be sorely missed too. He was a great talented actor and I really have to thank his extremely kindness to be patient talking to a UK Xenite that is born profoundly deaf. Being profoundly deaf has many disadvantages, but a great guy like Kevin Smith surely knows how to deal with people even with disabilities and I have his honour to thank him greatly for his kindness. We all know that Ares, the God of War is a bad person in Xena, but as a real person, he can be so soft and heart-warming to people. :-) <g> I will miss him so badly, and watching Old Ares Had A Farm will be extremely hard for me, but as a memento, I will keep the episode and watch it over and over again to keep my memento of Kevin Smith, very strong forever. :-) Also will keep my autographs from Kevin, and will stay on the wall in my home forever and will be passed on to my family relations, over the next forthcoming decades of years. :-) Finding it so hard to type a tribute, with tears rolling down my face, making the keyboard soaking wet (maybe ending up fused lol!) I just wanted to pour all my heart out for Kevin Smith, and his mourning family. God Bless Kevin Smith, may he rest in peace. My deep sympathetics and love to all his entire family, even his close friends Lucy Lawless and Reneé O' Connor. Lots of love from a very sad deaf Xenite. Miss Sam McIntyre
