I *LOVE* this book and the entire series featuring Dez Reilly and Jaylynn Savage.
Lori L. Lake's announcement of the 20th Anniversary Edition of Gun Shy! I wrote the introduction to the book (which I was thrilled to bits to be asked to do that...seriously cool).
From Lori L. Lake:
The 20th Anniversary Edition of GUN SHY: Book 1 in The Gun Series is back in print after being out of print for a few years and with a terrific Introduction by the incomparable MaryD! I was inspired by Missy’s characters all those years ago, and my two Ubers are Minnesota cops. To read the first couple of chapters (and MaryD’s excellent Intro about the rise of fanfic), go here: https://tinyurl.com/y4ynzto2

***While on patrol, Minnesota police officer Dez Reilly saves two women from a brutal attack. One of them, Jaylynn Savage, is immediately attracted to the taciturn cop--so much so that she joins the St. Paul Police Academy. As fate would have it, Dez is eventually assigned as Jaylynn's Field Training Officer. Having been burned in the past by getting romantically involved with another cop, Dez has a steadfast rule she has abided by for nine years: Cops are off limits. But as Jaylynn and Dez get to know one another, a strong friendship forms. Will Dez break her cardinal rule and take a chance on love with Jaylynn, or will she remain forever gun shy?
Here's Lunacy's Review of the story!
**GUN SHY by Lorelei (Lori L. Lake) - [Alt]
Officer Dez Reilly is the best cop in town, beautiful, serious and deadly. Jaylynn Savage is a promising rookie, having decided to join the force after seeing a certain tall, dark officer in action. Amidst the excitement of life on the beat and the dynamics of a police station, these two very different women grow to trust one another as a working partnership turns into friendship, and friendship starts to blossom into more. Acting as stumbling blocks along the way will be vengeful colleagues and dangerous criminals but perhaps the biggest obstacle of all will be a heart, once broken, that now remains just a bit...gun shy. Lorelei has crafted very solid characterizations for the leads here as well as a strong supporting cast. The story is well-paced with both the relationship and the conflicts evolving slowly. A very entertaining read that will keep you hitting that page-down key :) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [See the sequel UNDER THE GUN]
