What is the WGA Strike About?
Date: May 2, 2023 – present (1 month, 1 week and 1 day)
Location: United States – Primarily New York City, Los Angeles, Burbank, and Culver City[a]
Caused by: Lack of agreement on a new contract between the WGA and AMPTP
Goals: Increase funding and job security for writers. Increase the size of writers’ rooms
Limit the use of artificial intelligence in the writing process.
