TNovan and Advocate have been busy. From the duo
that wrote Madam President comes The Road To Glory. This is a great read! It's not a
sequel to MP (don't I wish) but it's very very good. A small spoiler here - if you liked
The Story of Me (it's not the sequel to that either) the squirrels make an appearance in
this which is quite funny. This is a fantastic piece.

Lucy News
Lucy was interviewed on New Zealand tv show
"Today Live". A full transcript will be online soon. Small snippets from the
interview (from Richard K who will be transcribing the interview): Everything she wears is
New Zealand made - wears a fake leather skirt, black t-shirt, what looks like winter boots
[unsure] and one of those long shells as a necklace. She's been back in NZ for about 3
weeks and will be going to the States in about 10 days time. Its a busy week for her this
week. She's going to Marist Primary for a mini auction on Friday - then off to perform
with Sir Howie and Temuera Morrison same night. Her favorite holiday spot is Auckland. And
she wants people to buy those little teddy's this month. To contribute to the appeal and
get a teddy go to: http://www.starship.org.nz/cg/Story?Action=View&Story_id=440

donations in honor of Renee's and Steve's baby. We've raised several thousand dollars for
a number of causes worldwide. In response to the requests by a number of Renee's fans,
I've added two organizations for this fundraising drive: Austin Children's Hospital and
Literacy Volunteers of America, Inc. If you would like to support another organization, we
will forward donations to any charity you choose to support. In addition, we will continue
to accept checks for the Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center. All checks

- The ARGO Awards are the Xenaverse's very own version of the
Oscars. The votes have been cast and now it's time to find out what we, the fans, thought
was the creme de la creme of the 6th Season. This year's ARGO's are being hosted by
Whoosh!'s own Laura Sue Dean and each award will be presented by fans from around the
Xenaverse. We've set this year's event time so that it will be doable for fans from many
time zones:
Saturday, July 28, 6:00pm EST / 3:00pm PST North America
Saturday, July 28, 11:00pm United Kingdom
Sunday, July 29, 12:00am Europe (Spain & Germany)
Sunday, July 29, 8:00am Eastern Australia
Sunday, July 29, 10:00am New Zealand
The ARGOs will be held at Whoosh! Warrior Palace. To find out more about what the
Palace is and how to get there. Please visit the palace info page at: http://www.whoosh.org/palace
Since the ARGOs tend to draw quite a crowd, we will be using the PalacePresents

CARES/Starship
Foundation
The following is from the Starship
Foundation web site:
The fundraising team at the Starship
Foundation has planned a full calendar of events and activities, click here for
Foundation Events. Our aim is to raise more than $2 million so the hospital can buy vital
equipment for a new neurosurgical operating theatre. We plan to have Lucy Lawless, as our
board trustee and ambassador, strongly involved in this big project especially around our
Annual Appeal month of July. However, fundraising activities will begin immediately to
help achieve the target.

I have uploaded two television
commercials that Lucy did for the Starship Foundation to the Sword and Staff website. Lucy
did the voice over in one, and she makes an appearance in the other. You'll need
RealPlayer in order to view them. Please do not lift the videos for posting elsewhere but
please feel free to link to the videos on the S&S site. You can find both
commercials at:

Just click on the bears on the home page to view them. Also, in exchange for a
donation to Starship's Annual Appeal, there is a Starship Bear screensaver available
online for anyone who may be interested in downloading it. You can find information about
that at the Starship website at http://starship.org.nz

June 2001
- Whatever do Al Gore, Lucy Lawless of ''Xena: Warrior
Princess,'' the agent who discovered Cindy Crawford, and Arnette Heintze of the U.S.
Secret Service have in common? They have all met with La Salle Street Scholars, young
students who may be street smart, but who know little about business and politics on the
city's financial main street. The speakers give the students the ''keys to the canyon,''
said the program's founder, Bernard Edelman, of Edelman & Associates. The program is
sponsored by the La Salle Street Council. [click here to read

snippet
* Beginning in October, reruns of "Xena: Warrior Princess" will also show
up on Oxygen, whose CEO, Geraldine Laybourne called "Xena" "the perfect
acquisition" for the women-themed network because "she's loaded with
ovaries." Before you pull out those old biology books, Laybourne later confirmed that
the mythical Xena had the same number of ovaries as 51 percent of the population, just
two.

Claudia Christian (Ivanova from B5)
Hello everybody, Well I've got a job for you. Many of you are fans
of Claudia Christian and Alex Tydings. They've been involved in developing a show called
Hourglass. The website is http://www.hourglass1.com
We've just put it up and now it needs visitors. Why? They've got a big meeting on
Thursday with some folks from MGM. One of the things they are taking is a sheet with
statistics in
it. The idea is that if we get enough hits in a short period of time, it will show that
the show already has potential because it's got a built in audience. There's not very much
time but I know we can do this. So I invite you to take the challenge and show these
people that fans do have the power and care about what they see on TV. Thanks and
any questions you may have you can always email me, at webmistress@claudiachristian.net
