Light Fantastic (The) by LA Tucker

My first thoughts on reading this story were that I found it hard to believe that this was LA Tucker's first story EVER. It's so well written and quite an interesting story. The characters are well developed and read like characters we could easily find in any neighbourhood. The author blends in the dramatic with a great comedic element that I found myself enjoying this story a great deal. It's a uber set in a small town. Chloe is a wonderfully written character with a quirkiness that I totally loved. Sara is the brooding, hurt actress that needs to trust. An excellent story by this bard and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work. Excellent story with characters that you can easily fall in love with.

London Blitz by Joseph Connell

This story continues the story of Xena who is an immortal (in the Highlander fashion) and Rickie (the reincarnated Gabrielle). Xena and Rickie travel to London unaware until it's too late that there people watching them and waiting to kill Xena. Descendents of a very close friend of Xena's when she was roaming the high seas of Greece play a prominent role. A very good story - long but an excellent read.

This story was my first foray into reading Uber fan fiction - A friend recommended I read Lucifer Rising and what a revelation it turned out to be. This story is packed with adventure, intrigue, love that knows no bounds and a good dose of mystery thrown in. This is the story of Jude Lucien, an ex DEA agent and Liz Gardener a nosey reporter. This is a fantastically richly woven story that you will not be able to turn away from this xenaverse Uber classic.

Make A Wish by AH-Ladis

I had tears in my eyes reading this story - it was so emotional. Its a story about loss and recovery and the lengths a love will go in order to achieve what they set out to do. It's also a Uber and how a dying young woman helps a warrior who is hurting very deeply. Beautifully written and it packs a punch. Excellent work.

Meridio's Daughter by LJ Maas

Set on the island of Mykonos, Greece this is a tale of two very different people, one the only child of a wealthy Greek who is seeped in crime and the other is the boss' second in command. A very well written story that will have you wanting to skip the last chapter to see what happens! Follow the story of Cassandra "Casey" Meridio and  Tessa  "Niko" Nikolaidis - a thorough good read.

My Protector by JC Wilder

It's very good to see this story back on the web. It's the story of Empress Sarika who must choose a mate and the dashing and beautiful Major Ramsay who is out of her time when she crash lands on earth thousands of years in the future! It had me riveted and it's a very good spin. I really enjoyed reading this story.

This story is set in Sydney, Australia (yeah my home town) and it's set in a hospital. Two greats things going for it already! Junebug has written a beautifully crafted tale of two people set in the backdrop of a major Sydney hospital. I feel for these characters and I really enjoyed the characterisations. Go and have a read - I'm quite sure you will enjoy it as much as I do.

What an absolutely wonderful read! This is the story of Torrey and Taylor  (or T'n'T..that gave me a chuckle) -- a story spanning 15 years! Its true when they say love is blind! The story goes back and forth which is most unusual but very entertaining.

Only One by Redhawk

I am a Highlander fan and I was over the moon when I read this story. Xena is an immortal - in the grand tradition of Highlander. Being an immortal can be rather tiresome when you don't have your soulmate to be with you and Xena goes through the millennia without Gabrielle - who promised to come back to her - and she does in the form of Rickie - a street kid who witnesses the immortal in action! Highly recommended. The whole INFINITY series is fantastic.

Passing On by Shadowriter

This story moved me beyond words. It touched me for the simple reason that it had a powerful message. It's about a group of people living in a conservative and narrow minded town. I think the author summed it up with these words

³This fight isn¹t about civil rights for gays and lesbians, or bisexuals and transgenders. It isn¹t about how we¹re portrayed in the press, or whether or not we can get a marriage license. It¹s not about laws, and rules, and government. It¹s about people. You and me. Tina. Sam and Bobby. It¹s about the courage Sam needs every morning, just to get up and go through another day of pain. It¹s about  Bobby having the guts to put a picture of him and Sam on his desk at work. It¹s  about simple things, like holding hands, or kissing our lovers. Feeling safe in our cars, and our homes. The Pappas Journals Part 1 and 2 by Elaine Sutherland

Few stories get me to the point of being so upset I can't read until I wipe my eyes. This story did this. It was not because it was so well written (which it was) but it was the subject matter that it dealt with. We near the end of the 20th century and we have witnessed (and in my case) read about the brutality of the concentration camps during WW2. Few people could witness the films from these camps and not be moved with the sheer animalistic brutality of man. Elaine takes us into the world of WW2 and for Melinda Pappas a close up view of the concentration camp. This story is so well written I felt like I was there and that for me is the mark I set for good storytelling. Part 2 of The Pappas Journals may upset people but it's a must read.

Perfect Pitch by JC Wilder

This is an unusual story because I've never seen this handled before. JC Wilder does a great job in bringing to life two Uber characters but with a slight twist. For anyone that remembers that wonderful book/movie called "Tim" with Mel Gibson will trully appreciate this story about an attorney Marci Madson when she befriends Christine Alexander, the mentally handicapped daughter of her building's super, around the same time that the mayor askes her to raise funding for a women's minor league baseball team.

Redemption by Susanne Beck

This story is about two women - both in a place that heroes don't usually hear heroes come from - prison. We journey into their lives through the eyes of Angel. This story is full of the joy of love found in a place that is cold. Sounds melodramatic but that's the case. Sue has weaved a story that captures you from the first paragraph and you want to know more about. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Retribution is the sequel to one of my all time favourite Ubers, Redemption. It's the continuing story of Ice and Angel. It's set in the Canada where the pair have gone to avoid Ice's recapture. It's an extraordinary story written by a very talented bard. I thoroughly recommend it.

A Conqueror fanfic piece by Melissa Good...I never thought it was possible but there you go. Urged on by the Lunatic herself - erm by Lunacy <g> for YEARS to write a Conqueror fanfic, Missy got tired of listening to Lunacy beg so here it is :) I must say this is absolutely fantastic and leaves you wanting more from one of the best bards in the Xenaverse. The Conqueror of Missy's story is a bloodthirsty tyrant ruling over her conquered lands. Add a general who wants more than to lead her armies and see a closer inspection of her bedchamber, aides who conspire against her, slaves who riot and of course one slave in particular - the young Gabrielle whose heart is pure. Her loyalty to Xena is a turning point in the Conqueror's life.. It's an exceptional read and although still unfinished - it's nearing the end. It's also got a whole boatload of beheadings so I could add to my collection (thanks Missy) <vbg> Excellent writing by one of my favourite bards.

Tragedy88 has this wonderful story called Shattered Innocence that I found absolutely fascinating. It's a Uber story but with Uber Xena being an 18 year old in high school and Uber Gabrielle a few years younger. It's an excellent story. Robbie is arrested for the murder of her father whilst Janet has to deal with other issues that will may affect her relationship with Robbie. We also see the return of Alberta. The story has a nice little twist at the end which really surprised me. A very good read.

The Pocket Watch by Cheyne Curry

We all know the events of 9/11 and the devastating effect it had on thousands of lives. The Pocket Watch is one of the most moving pieces of fiction I have read in a long time. It tells the story of a courageous firefighter and the woman she believes may have died in the attacks on the World Trade Center. Beautifully written and on the anniversary of 9/11, it's a timely reminder of how easy love could be lost.

Missy has created two characters that are so believable that it's easy to forget they don't exist but in the mind of this talented writer. Paladar Roberts and Kerrison Stuart are two ordinary people in Miami, Florida who meet and although the path is rocky at first - it soon becomes apparent that Kerry Stuart has won the heart of this corporate shark! A EXCELLENT read and well worth rereading over and over. I stayed up till 1 am reading this story. It's very unique that I haven't seen this situation handled before. The story deals with a powerful CEO of a major corporation   who returns to a small town to rebuild herself and in the end rebuilds the town as well. The Uber characters are very well written and handled with so much care. The Uber Xena was injured and is now a paraplegic and the Uber Gabrielle character is the local vet. Karen and Pruferblue have managed to create a story that keeps you there wanting more. A sequel is planned I've been told and I for one am looking forward to reading it!

This installment in the Plan D series is very timely. It deals with drink driving and how Grace tries to save the lives of 37 children whose bus was hit by a drunk driver. Drink driving is a crime and bloody stupid. I wish everyone who has ever been involved in something like this had a T around to convince them to stay around. A very well written addition to the Plan D series. Well done FlyBigD - another winner!

The Vampire Hunter by Kodi Wolf

We get introduced to Dana Clark - a vampire hunter who is out to rid the city of them. She gets introduced to Gabrielle, who is an ancient vampire, the ancient of ancients and her perceptions gets turned on their head. A very good story and had me wishing for a sequel!

This has to be one of the funniest series I have read. Had me laughing so hard. So far there are four stories in this series. This is the story of Zina a reformed petty criminal who is now a firefighter living in Chakram Creek and Gabrielle her lover. Gabrielle's boyfriend Purdy is settled with her sister Lilla and it gets crazier after that!

When a story comes along that is so well written, so interesting and so captivating you can't put down. This is one of those stories. It has been writtien by a newcomer to the bard ranks Taylor Rickard and an old timer (I'm sure I'm going to get whapped for that line) T. Novan. WHIS is set during the American Civil War - two characters, Charlie Redmond, a dashing, debonir Army colonel leading his men as they push on to victory against the South. Rebecca Gaines is a Southern lady who is alone and quite suspicious of the Northern Army camped outside her house. Charlie hides a secret that would destroy his life if it became known - he is a woman. Rebecca is the woman that claims Charlie's heart in a moving story on par with Gone With the Wind. Find out about Lucky Charlie and Miss Rebecca. Awesome story
