Ephiny is written so beautifully here that I could visualise her reactions! A top read this one.

Mistress of the Two Lands is set in Egypt thus combining my favourite duo and the land of mystery and Pharaohs. This story is so well written that I felt I was there watching instead of reading. I suggest you keep liquids away from the keyboard for this one. It's a FIN Parody and just so wickedly good. "Mother, May I Sleep with Thracians? A Musical Homage to Love, Redemption, and Gratuitous Violence" is just about the funniest parody I have read since "You've Got Scrolls" by Advocate, Fanatic and T. Novan. FIN wasn't fun for a great many people but I think it's time to make fun of it. It's either laugh or cry and at this point, I think laughing is better for the soul.

Oh what an absolutely fantastic piece of fanfic this - it's breathtaking in it's story telling. M. Parnell has woven a tale. This is a story about Xena finding her father and finding more than she bargained for, taking command and being the best leader she can be - but there are forces against her, including the psychotic Callisto. This is a must read. I can't praise it enough.

Raising Melosa Series by T. Novan

TN has created a whole new series within a series - if you can call it that. Raising Melosa is about Xena and Gabrielle who have decided to settle down with the Amazons and Gabrielle has become their Queen. Melosa is their child - conceived in a most unusual way. This series is one of my favourites and I always eagerly await the arrival of the next installment. There are 81 parts to this so far and I for one hope it never ends.

This new bard's first story is one that I found so interesting and quite addictive. Her depictions of our favourite duo was so well written. Where have you been hiding, Sinful?!
This is the story of Xena and Gabrielle going to the Amazon village, Xena then goes and gets herself captured. Her courage and her love for Gabrielle gives her the will to survive. It's a true epic - sit in your comfy chair and be prepared to be engrossed in a tale you won't want to set aside until finished. Excellent story

What can I say about a story that blew me away...well it blew me away. Sinful written a well crafted story of what A Family Affair SHOULD have been. It's brilliant. We see the return of Hope and her offspring and deal with the Amazons and their anger towards Xena. A wonderful story - I can't praise it enough. Highly recommended.

Soul Searching by T. Novan & Advocate

If you read only one Conqueror story this year - this has to be it. It's one of the best that I've seen deal with the ruler of the Known World. Xena, the Conqueror, is tired and goes out of her palace in search for some peace and quiet. She finds it in a small town of Potadeia where an innkeeper and a young boy capture her heart. I can't say it often enough it's a fantastic read and well worth the time to read this long story. You won't be disappointed.

The Stalker by Kelly Noble

I don't think I have read anything like this before. Gabrielle goes to the future to change the past and alter events. It's a thought provoking short story and VERY well written. I expect nothing less from T. Novan. She always comes up with innovative stories and this is one of them.

Every Xena and Gabrielle fan wonders what would have happened to them if they hadn't met each other. We had a glimpse of that in the episode Remember Nothing and the glimpse wasn't all that flash. This episode takes it another step forward - as they both wonder what life would have been like if they didn't have each other. They get a little help in seeing what it was like from a very old friend.

I absolutely adore fanfic that makes me laugh out loud - it's a balm to the soul. This episode of the Virtual Subtext Season 7 is one of those that did make me feel good. Gabrielle wishes to know what goes on the head of a certain Warrior Princess (don't we all). She gets more than she bargained for. TN also throws in a couple of squirrels that I just found SO cute (yes I admit I'm a squirrel nut - heh). A great story

Subtext Virtual Season Seven: Roman Holiday by Melissa Good

The subtext virtual season has picked up from where Season 6 ended with our heroes either dead or alone. This Virtual season has brought them back together in a stunning way. Roman Holiday is the 14th episode and is a real stunner. Xena and Gabrielle have to go back to Rome to rescue a friend despite their feelings for the place. It's an excellent piece of writing and one that I would have loved to have seen on the screen.

This short story is one of the first to deal with the events in Motherhood. Aphrodite, now a widow and although still a god, is now helping people. She comes to Gabrielle's side and has a heart to heart about Gabrielle's insecurities and also lets Xena know a secret. A very good read.

What can I say to this? It has to be the funniest parody I've ever read. Gabrielle joins a secret Literary list (she can't say the name of it to anyone - it's a secret) where only Amazons or Amazon like women can join. It's a total riot and I laughed myself silly.
